“Hou2LivingGallery @ City One Shatin” Selected as One of the Finalists for the 2025 City for Humanity Awards – Community Building Award

We are honoured that:”Hou2LivingGallery @ City One Shatin” has been nominated to participate in the 2025 City for Humanity Awards (三聯人文城市獎), a national award in the fields of architecture and urban development. Among the 187 nominated projects, we were selected as one of the five finalists in the Community Building Award category.

In September, the judging panel visited City One in person to speak with our team, community partners, and participants of the Hou2 Living Gallery, learning about our initiatives to promote age-friendly design and cross-sector collaboration within Hong Kong’s neighbourhoods and housing estates, as well as the challenges and future aspirations.

We were also invited to Chengdu in November for the award ceremony at West Village Basis Yard(西村大院), joining other major projects from across the country in the competition. We are truly grateful that a community-building initiative from Hong Kong can be seen and recognised on a national stage.

Thanks to the unwavering support of our Incubators & Funding Organisations, ZeShan Foundation 擇善基金會 and Ho Cheung Shuk Wan Charitable Foundation; our Community Partner, ELCHK Sheen Hok Charitable Foundation Kwan Shon Hing Yu Chui Neighbourhood Elderly Centre; our Funding Support, Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Fund (SIE-Fund), Knowledge Transfer Office (KTO), CUHK, and Faculty of Social Science, CUHK; and our Support Organisations, CUHK School of Architecture, and the @CUHK Jockey Club Institute of Ageing! Special thanks to the City One Shatin's property management team, Paramatta Estate Management Limited and the Owners’ Committee for their full support throughout the process, as well as to all dedicated participants from Phase I and II of the Hou2 Living Gallery, and our student volunteers for their support and sharing!
